Description
DESCRIPTION: An Art Deco period yellow bakelite dress clip.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Dress clips were very popular in the Art Deco period. They were made of all sorts of materials and styles – often sold in pairs – and some times the pair would be attached to a frame so could be worn as a brooch. I like to wear them on a chain round my neck but of course they could be worn anywhere. They have a couple of sharpish metal pieces on the back to keep them affixed to the garment – so not to be worn as earrings! They lost favour in the 1950s and have not been seen since!
MEASUREMENTS AND CONDITION: In good condition. Clip works well. Measures about 2 1/4 inches top to bottom.
