    Description

This is a two row necklace of pale, powder blue glass beads. The beads are rather special – they are hollow and are of a ‘cut out’ design. (They are hollow in the middle.) Similar beads can be found in the Museum of Glass and Jewellery in Jablonec. They date from 1920-1940. The two separate rows of beads were found in a shop that shut in 1972. The shop used to make up jewellery from older components. These two rows of beads had not been used and still had their original label. ‘Made in Czecho Slovaria’ I decided to make them into a double row of beads. I have hand knotted each bead to help to protect them. I have found an old diamante clasp with a central blue stone. Because of the way I have done the ends the two rows could easily be separated and single clasps fitted. It is rare to find such delicate beads in unused condition – hence the price! Great for a collector of Czech. beads. The rows of beads measure 20 and 22 inches approx.
