Description
This is a matt gold tone vintage brooch of the famous Tutankhamun mask. It has a lot of detail and has black, red and turquoise enamelling. It has a red cabochon glass stone in the centre of his head. (A bit of artistic licence here!) It is a very well made brooch and in good condition. On the back it has the mark FM CHINA It has taken me a little while to be able to identify this mark. It is – apparently – the Franklin Mint – an American company. It made a series of pieces when the Tutankhamun exhibition went to the States in the 1980s. The quality of these pieces is, I understand, very good indeed. The pieces were made in China. One of my American colleagues was able to fill me in on this. I shall watch out for the other pieces in the series! It measures approx 2 1/4 x 1 1/2 inches.
