DESCRIPTION: An Elsa Schiaparelli vintage diamante necklace with three elaborate hanging drops. Made around the 1950s.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Schiaparelli was one of the famous names in fashion. She moved from Paris to New York and in 1949 opened an outlet selling clothes, jewellery and perfume. Her jewellery line lasted until the late 1950s. Apparently she allowed her name to be used on licenced products after this. She was, of course, known for her bright colours – especially pink – but did also make diamante pieces like this one. This necklace has the signature used after 1949 – so I am presuming it was made somewhere between that date and the late 1950s. There is plenty of information on Schiaparelli on the internet!
MEASUREMENTS AND CONDITION: The condition is good for the age – at least 60 years old! There is a picture of the mark. It is 16 inches in length – but can be fastened a bit shorter with the hook.
