Description
This is an orange pressed glass pieces necklace that would have been made in Czechoslovakia. It consists of a central high relief orange pressed glass flower on a white metal frame with two leaves. More leaves go round the necklace. I think the chain and clasp might be a later addition. These necklaces were often too short for women to wear today. This one measures about 20 inches. The 1920s was dominated by floral patterns in faux jade and coral – reproduced in press molded glass stones. This trend continued in the 1930s. (Taken from Sibylle Jargstorf’s book Baubles, Buttons and Beads – the Heritage of Bohemia – Schiffer) The necklace is in good condition.
