Description
DESCRIPTION: This is a Miracle vintage brooch. It has a large amber coloured faceted glass centre stone surrounded by 8 smaller faux agate glass stones in a variety of colours. The metal is silver coloured.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Miracle is a Birmingham based company that started in 1946 – and is still in business. They specialise in making Celtic, Irish and Scottish style jewellery. The metal is usually antiqued pewter in colour. I particularly like this large design which I have seen with various colour combinations. These brooches sometimes get mistaken for ‘the real thing!’ This brooch is not in their current catalogue and I think quite an old design. There is more information on my Blog to be found on Blogs/My Notes on Manufacturers.
MEASUREMENTS AND CONDITION: The brooch measures about 2 1/2 in diameter. The condition is good. The roll over clasp works well. The yellow glass stone is unscratched and the silvering on the back in good condition. It is marked ‘Miracle’ on the top edge of the metal on the back.
