DESCRIPTION: This is a white metal JJ brooch depicting a cat dangling a mouse on the end of a chain. The white metal is more of a pewter colour with darkened details.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The firm JJ was the Jonette Jewelry Company (USA) which was in operation from around 1940 until 2006. They produced quirky novelty jewellery and animals formed quite a part of their output. This brooch is probably vintage (20 years old) but might not be. It has to be 15 years old.
MEASUREMENTS AND CONDITION: The brooch measures about 2 1/4 inches square. It is marked on the back ‘c JJ’. It is in good condition and the pin seems secure. The mouse and the chain is firmly attached.
