DESCRIPTION: A square, faux mother of pearl and gold tone metal compact. It has a filigree type edging and is hinged. The date is unknown.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is a faux mother of pearl, square, vintage compact that opens with a gold tone metal hinge. It is also decorated with gold tone metal round the outside of the front and back. It has a large mirror and space inside for a lipstick and loose powder. It has the powder sieve. The lipstick space is lined with a net fabric. The powder side has a cardboard liner. It has a tiny, blue cabochon stone on the top front. I would think it dates from the middle of the 20th century.
MEASUREMENTS AND CONDITION. It measures about 3 1/4 inches square. The condition is good for the age. The faux mother of pearl is unmarked. The mirror has a couple of marks near the edge. There is also some discoloration to the inside of the lipstick space and the powder container. The gold tone metal seems fine.
