Description
It is difficult to know how – precisely – to describe these earrings. They came from a shop that closed in 1972. The shop made up jewellery from old components – a lot of which were pre WW11. The earrings consist of a pharaoh’s head in a gilt metal fixed on to an ornate plaque (please see the picture of the back). There is a blue bead, bead caps and a small gilt bead. They have lever backed earrings fittings. I think the components are from the Egyptian Revival period but I cannot be sure. (Not sure of course about the earring tops – they could be later.) I am therefore selling them as Egyptian Revival style. They measure approx. 2 inches top to bottom.
