Description
This is an early 20th century gold tone and mesh coin purse with finger ring. It is similar to the Tam o’Shanter purses but they do not usually have a mesh under part. The top is a gold tone, pointed star with flowers pattern. The bottom part is a gold mesh – a little darkened with age – and similar to the Whiting and Davis mesh bags. It has a chain with a finger ring. It measures about 2 1/2 inches across. I think the lining may have been replaced – it is not as deep as the mesh. It is a light yellow colour. The mirror is in good condition- as is the rest of the bag – except for the mesh darkening a bit.
