Description
A vintage Czech. brooch. It has a large, speckled green glass centre stone in an oval shape – which is claw set- with lots of small, decorated claws. There are then twelve smaller glass stones in the same colour green – and these are set with four small claws. This is mounted on a gilt metal on brass filigree base. Surrounding the centrepiece are some decorative pieces – which might be leaves – and some even smaller green glass stones. It is generally in good condition of the age. One small point is that the C clasp is mounted on a small piece of metal which is then attached to the filigree base. It looks original but it might be a later addition. It was certainly done a long time ago and is quite secure. It measures about 2 3/4 x 1 3/4 inches.
