Description
DESCRIPTION: This is a very large Czech. filigree brooch. It has a centre brownish glass stone and yellow/orange glass stones and flatback white diamante stones. Date probably first part of the 20th century.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The central brownish glass stone is mounted upside down. The faceted side is on top – forming a point – and the flat side underneath. It is mounted with claws all the way round. There are orange/yellow glass stones round the edge and flat back white ones mounted with claws. The metal has aged and looks neither gilt nor white! The filigree metal work is quite ornate. I reckon first part of the 20th century for date.
MEASUREMENTS AND CONDITION: The condition is good considering the age. All stones present. The white flatbacks have aged. It is marked on the clasp TCHECOSLOVAQUE for Czechoslovakia. It measures approx. 3 1/4 x 1 5/8 inches.
