Description
DESCRIPTION: This is a cream celluloid brise fan from the first half of the 20th century. Probably before 1939. It has a cut out type pattern and is held together with a thin ribbon. It opens out into semicircle.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is called a brise fan and is made up of individual blades – as opposed to a folded material fan. The two outer blades are stronger than the others. A ribbon is threaded through the top to keep the fan together and it is riveted at the bottom. A tassel could be threaded through the metal loop at the bottom. Please see my blog on celluloid under Manufacturers.
MEASUREMENTS AND CONDITION: The fan is in good condition. The ribbon is not worn. The blades are about 7 inches long.
