DESCRIPTION: A vintage cream celluloid bag top with floral decoration and chain. 1920-1930s. Needs material bottom to be made.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: These celluloid bags were very popular in the 1920-1930s. Some were sold with the bag bottoms already made and attached – and some were sold with just the top so you could make your own bottom – or your dressmaker could make a bag bottom to match an outfit. The tops were often made in Franch. Some were amazingly beautiful with beaded and decorated bottoms. The cream colour in the picture is just a bit lighter than in real life.
MEASUREMENTS AND CONDITION: The bag top is in good condition. Please see pictures of the hinges – they are good. It measures about 6 inches straight across and the chain measures about 15 inches.
