Description
A celluloid scottie dog brooch from around the 1930s. Scottie dogs have always been popular both in the U.K. and in America – and particularly so in jewellery between 1930-1950s. However the brooch may have been made in Japan – the centre of the celluloid industry. This one is actually a little bit whiter than the picture – difficult to get the colour/light balance correct. It is one of the larger ones – at nearly 2 1/2 inches square. It is in good overall condition – but a little bit of paint may be worn in places. Difficult to decide whether it has worn or was originally like that!
