DESCRIPTION: This is a celluloid sewing, needle, cottons and thimble case. It has a painted face on the front. It is from the Art Deo period. The thimble is black and the base more of a dark mauve colour. The head is a light cream colour.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: These small items were useful to slip into a bag or case to repair items on visits, holidays etc. – or just for handiness around the house! The thimble unscrews and the face slips down to the base to reveal the cottons wound on a reel – black and white. The top of the reel unscrews to hold a needle. Just very basic repairs!
MEASUREMENTS AND CONDITION: It is about two inches top to bottom. The celluloid is just a little discoloured on the neck part and the thimble hat perhaps not quite as dark as it would have been. Otherwise the condition is good.
