DESCRIPTION: A largish, rectangular, carved bakelite brooch in a brownish/orangey colour – from the Art Deco period. Flowers and leaves design. 1930s.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Difficult to get the colour exact but it is a common colour in bakelite. Largish brooch with plenty of carved flowers and leaves. Made around the 1930s when bakelite was very popular. Unlike celluloid and galalith – bakelite could actually be carved. I wonder how long it took!
MEASUREMENTS AND CONDITION: It measures about 3 x 2 inches. Has long pin with roll over clasp. It is in good condition – no chips.
