DESCRIPTION: This is a Butler and Wilson vintage, white metal, brooch and clip earrings set in the shape of an artist’s palette with brushes. It has cabochon stones to represent the paint.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is an early vintage Butler and Wilson set. They may not have been an actual set as the backs have different textures. It consists of a brooch and clip earrings in white metal depicting an artist’s palette. On the brooch there are three brushes and five coloured cabochon stones. The earrings have three brushes and coloured diamante stones. The back of the brooch is textured but the backs of the earrings are not. The brooch has an early ‘Made in England’ stamp on the back. This is not seen in later pieces and is quite feint but can be deciphered with a magnifier. The brooch and the earrings have the B & W logo.
MEASUREMENTS AND CONDITION: The brooch measures about 3 x 1 1/2 inches and the earrings 1 3/4 x 7/8ths approx. They are all in good, vintage condition. One of the earrings has a brown mark in the picture. This is not present on the earrings -just the effect of the light! The pin works well – as do the earring clips.
