DESCRIPTION: This is a short Art Deco French necklace. The beads are glass and galalith in a Peking glass colour. It has a French style clasp and is on the original chain.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This could have been made by Louis Rousselet but I do not like to describe it as such on guess work. It is certainly French Art Deco in style and has a French metal screw clasp. It is on a heavier chain – probably brass – typical of these necklaces. I have described it as ‘Peking Glass’ as people have used this term for decades to describe this colour – but it is in fact the incorrect use of this term.
MEASUREMENTS AND CONDITION: There are a few marks on the glass but these are original. The necklace is in good condition and measures about 18 inches.
