Description
DESCRIPTION: This is an Art Deco period diamante dress clip – an unusual shape and a little bigger than the norm. It is in a triangular shape with two corners cut out. The centre part has square shaped diamante stones. At the top there are two rows of round diamantes and down the sides one row. It is on a grey metal with a plated brass clip (for strength).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Dress clips were the height of fashion in the Art Deco period. They were made in every shape, size and material. Diamante was particularly popular. They often came in pairs. They were worn at the centre of a V neck garment – or in pairs on a square neck – or anywhere else they would clip on. This one would look good on a chain round the neck.
MEASUREMENTS AND CONDITION: The condition is good. All the stones are present and shiny. The clip works well. It measures about 2 1/2 inches at the widest width and about 1 3/4 inches top to bottom.
