Description
DESCRIPTION: An Art Deco black galalith and chrome necklace from the 1930s period.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This Deco Necklace consists of pieces of curved, black galalith with chrome spacers in between in the front. The rest of the necklace has small, long pieces of black galalith and tiny chrome beads. They are threaded on chain and there is a screw in clasp. Probably German or French. Most of these necklaces get described as Jakob Bengel but there were plenty of other makers. Bengel doesn’t seem to have used chain a great deal. I have seen some examples in around 1931 that did but cannot find this one.
MEASUREMENTS AND CONDITION: In good condition for the age and the fact that it is chrome! The clasp works well. The galalith does not appear to be chipped anywhere. It measures about 17 1/2 inches in length.
