DESCRIPTION: This is an Antique belt buckle from the Art Nouveau period. Two round disks of black celluloid with two brass ladies with flowing hair.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This belt buckle is from the Art Nouveau period when belts were made to go with your garment and you chose the buckle. It is typically Art Nouveau with two women with flying hair as centrepieces. These are made of brass. The two pieces – which are made of black celluloid – have four holes – on each piece – to sew on to the fabric of the belt. They have large brass plates on the back for strength – and to affix the fastenings.
MEASUREMENTS AND CONDITION: The pieces have a diameter of about 2 1/4 inches. Yes there is a little wear to the celluloid – not surprising – but no deep scratches.
