DESCRIPTION: This is a Butler and Wilson vintage gold tone brooch of a figure with a turban and oriental style outfit. It has mauve glass stones decoration on ears, waistcoat and shoes. Probably 1980s.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This gold tone figure with a regal turban, wide sleeves top and trousers – and a waistcoat with mauve, faceted glass stones – is probably 1980s. During the 1980s Butler & Wilson made a collection of Blackamoor brooches and it could have formed part of that – but this is only guess. The gold plating is very good quality. The front is shiny and the back is patterned. The B & W mark is on the centre back.
MEASUREMENTS AND CONDITION: It is in very good condition. No wear or scratches. It measures about 2 1/2 x 1 3/4 inches.
