Description
This is a vintage button from the 1920s era. It has a large, thick, flat brown casein base. On top of the casein disk it has an elaborate antiques brass metal piece. This has a surrounding patterned edge which has in the central a six point star design (all one piece). In the middle is a five pointed, deep yellow, glass stone. This is kept in place by a gilt claw setting. I am assured by a button expert (which I am not) that this is c1920s and casein – which was used a lot in button manufacture. It is in good condition and measures approx 1 3/4 inches.
