A pair of my long dangley diamante earrings on Freja Beha Erichsen – a well known Danish model who has been working since 2005. This shoot was styled by Kate Moss – for Vogue – June 2015 for an article entitled ‘Mercury Rising’. It was shot in Morocco. The photographer was Glen Luchford. Kate Moss occasionally styles for British Vogue and I am always interested to see the result.

CELLULOID
Celluloid is generally regarded as the first thermoplastic. It was first created in 1862 and registered as ‘celluloid’ in 1870. It was used to imitate ivory. It is still in use today for table tennis balls and guitar picks. It had many uses in the jewellery trade and in the home. It was used to make jewellery, hat pins, buttons, jewellery boxes, ring boxes, dolls, dressing table sets, brushes and combs etc. It is often called ivorine or French ivory. It is a fragile material and quite flammable. It can deteriorate over time. Pieces that show deterioration should not be put with other pieces. A good book about celluloid and its care is ‘Celluloid Collectibles’ by Shirley Dunn – published by Collector Books.
DAZED & CONFUSED MAGAZINE – SUMMER 17 – KIRSTEN DUNST
In the Summer 2017 edition of Dazed and Confused magazine I have a pair of vintage glass and diamante earrings on Kirsten Dunst – the American actress. The shoot was photographed by Caspar Serjersen and styled by Robbie Spencer.
ERMANI BULATTI
I love the work of Ermani Bulatti – of whom not a lot is known. He was a Dutch designer whose best work was done around the 1980s. The jewellery was very high quality and sold in the top boutiques. He specialised in coating brass with various finishes such as bronze and silver plate. The major influences were Art Deco and Italian. The most up to date info on Bulatti is on the Vintage-Jewels.nl/Designers site. They say that the firm started in 1984 – being founded by Herman Tiggeler – and closed in 2012. I believe there is currently a company called Bulatti BV. If you put his name into Google and click on Photos you will get a good idea why I love his work – although it might not be everybody’s taste!
VOGUE MAGAZINE – FEBRUARY 2016 – LINEISY MONTERO
This Vogue UK article featured several pairs of my earrings in a shoot entitled ‘Colour by Numbers’ – photographer Patrick Demarehelier, Stylist Lucinda Chambers and model Lineisy Montero. This pair were on an original card, with a number of other pairs, in different colours. I believe they are from the 1960s. Lineisy Montero is a Dominican model known for her work with Prada. Lucinda Chambers has to be one of my favourite stylists – I have always admired her work.
OUR SECOND SHOP
Looking through the glass from our 1st shop – and through all the rows of beads – you can just about see our 2nd shop. Will try to get a better picture to put up – but you can get the idea!
VOGUE MAGAZINE – MARCH 2014 – DARIA WERBOWY
I do love distinctive plastic jewellery and the magazines often borrow from me for photoshoots. A lot of my jewellery was in Vogue 2014 – on a shoot photographed by Mario Testino and styled by Lucinda Chambers. The model is Daria Werbowy and the shoot is called ‘Rainbow Babes’. Daria Werbowy is a Ukrainian-Canadian model associated with Lancôme.
POP MAGAZINE – S/S 2014 JANICE ALIDA
Had jewellery in eight pictures in an untitled article in Pop Magazine in 2014. Most of the photos were in black and white. They all feature Janice Alida – a model since 2010. Photographs by Paul Wetherel and styled by Julia Sarr-Jamois. Always like to see Julia’s styling – it never disappoints!
GROSSE – HENKEL & GROSSE
L’OFFICIAL SWITZERLAND – JULY 2017 – STELLA MAXWELL
Had a couple of photos of Stella Maxwell – of Victoria Secrets fame – in L’Officiel Switzerland. The shoot was photographed by Rowan Papier and styled by Christopher Maul. She is wearing a Lucite bangle of mine. Great picture!
