Description
DESCRIPTION: A Tokalon, French, Art Deco, small powder compact from around the 1920s. It was designed by Lalique and depicts a pierrot face with a large, gold, ruff.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is an iconic design used in Tokalon powder and rouge compacts and boxes in the Art Deco period. This one – in a gold tone metal – is edged in blue. I have also seen them in red. It has the puff and a see through, printed description. It did have the powder but unfortunately it was no longer a block and was going everywhere! It is also marked on the side – TOKALON Paris.
MEASUREMENTS AND CONDITION: It is in good condition. The mirror O.K. and the catch works. Please see pictures. It measures about 2 inches in diameter.
