DESCRIPTION: An antique Victorian Celtic love knot style large brooch. In gold plate on brass with three orangey/yellow glass stones set with claws.
ADITIONAL INFORMATION; These Celtic love knot style brooches were very popular in the Victorian era. They are quite large and had a long pin- which was meant to go on a fairly thick fabric. It would not be suitable for something thin! It has the traditional Victorian ‘C’ clasp. The gild tubes are decorated.
MEASUREMENTS AND CONDITION: For the age it is in good condition. Some soldering is visible on the inside – this is original. The glass stones do have a little wear that I do not think detracts unless you look very closely. It measures about 2 x 1 1/2 inches.
