DESCRIPTION: A 1920s Art Deco period Egyptian Revival cream cigarette holder with Sphinx and Pyramids decoration.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is a long Egyptian Revival cigarette holder made around 1926-28. It is probably celluloid. I have had this – and similar ones – for a long time. When I bought them I was informed they were discovered in Weimar in a store owned by a small tobacco dealer who shut the store in 1929. This one is cream with two wide bands of brown. In between are drawings of the the Sphinx and two pyramids. It comes apart into two pieces connected by a screw device. Please see all pictures. (I have some others at home with different designs.)
MEASUREMENTS AND CONDITION: The condition is good. The screw fitting works fine. It is of course unused. It measures about 8 3/4 inches.
