DESCRIPTION: A vintage running scottie dog brooch in black celluloid with a blue collar and white and black eye.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Celluloid scottie dogs were very popular in the period 1930s to early 1950s when celluloid production was at its highest. You can buy them in so many different shapes and sizes. Some look like an actual scottie dog and some are more like a cartoon character. I like this one because it actually looks like a real dog! Celluloid is quite fragile but somehow this one has survived.
MEASUREMENTS AND CONDITION: It measures approx 2 3/4 x 1 3/4 inches. It is in good condition considering! There are no damages and the colour is still quite good. The pin works well and seems secure.
