I am always pleased to get some Askew earrings. Askew is one of the few British firms making costume jewellery that mark their work. Their current work is extremely popular but this pair is vintage and hard to find. These are marked Askew London. Askew opened in 1979. These earrings look 1980s but could be later. They consist of a top – that looks like an Art Deco dress clip – and has marcasite stones set in. Hanging are five drops with clear glass beads, grey and white pearls beads, black beads – and a central oval black glass stone. They are on white metal and have a stud fitting. (See back picture) They measure approx. 3 1/2 inches top to bottom.
