John Louis Scherrer – Paris – worked with Dior in 1956 and then with Louis Feraud. In 1962 he launched his own fashion house. Unfurtunately in 1992 he was fired from his own fashion house. Very informative article written about him by Karin Zwaneveld for CJCI from which I was able to glean this info. These earrings are gold plated clips. They are quite ornate and 3-D. They measure about 1 1/2 inches across – and stand up about 1.2 inch. I cannot date them but believe them to be vintage.
