Description
This is a typical Art Deco necklace. My opinion is that it is from Germany. It is in the style of Jakob Bengel – or one of the other manufacturers from the Idar-Oberstein area – but I have not found it in any of my books. Bengel mostly made in galalith but some of the necklaces were made of glass. This necklace has mottled green glass beads, two chrome beads and lots of chrome bead caps. It is on chain and has a barrel clasp. I have put up close up pictures of the various sections of the necklace for information. You can see the details better. It measures about 18 inches – typical for the period. The necklace is in good condition – the chrome showing no signs of rust that I can see. (This necklace should never be put away damp!) A wonderful Art Deco necklace that I would love to wear!
