Description
This is an Art Deco period, green glass oval stones necklace with diamante stones interspersed. It originally had a silver plate but the underneath metal – probably brass – is visible. It is otherwise in good condition. The stone in the clasp has different facets from the rest of the necklace. This has not been replaced – it is probably a flat backed stone so that it does not get in the way of the clasp. The necklace measures about 16 inches in length. Art Deco necklaces are often quite short and this one cannot be added to. It reminds me of similar necklaces made in the Georgian period.
