Description
This is a very large blue, green and black marquise shaped glass stones brooch – of unknown date. Certainly vintage style but in very good condition. The white metal has a bronze/grey coating. The bottom of the brooch is a cluster shape with a central faceted black stone. All the stones are claw set. The blue stones have a sort of matt surface, but not the black and green ones. A few round green ones at the bottom are on ‘stalks’. In the upper part stones are radiating from the top of the cluster part – reaching an irregular peak! The pin has either lost – or never had – a part of the coating – so I can see it is white metal underneath. Please see the picture of the back so you can see how it is constructed. I cannot make up my mind as to date. The bottom part is like a 1950/60s cluster. The top part has gone a little mad! The coating is in new condition – which tends to make it look newer. It measures about 4 x 2 inches. A very impressive brooch!
